Many years ago, when I was a teenager, I saw a movie about a love story that took place in Cape Town, South Africa. It was perfectly described there as a very beautiful city.
Cape Town, I want to go there someday…
Last year, February 2009, I met a lovely lady in Singapore. Magda was the resident coordinator for my 25-days-leadership training and she is from Cape Town. I remember the first night in Singapore, we were in the same table at the dinner, and she introduced herself, also where she comes from. “South Africa, wow, I heard it’s a very beautiful place” that was my first reaction.
Cape Town, I want to go there someday…
Few months after the training, all of us got back to our country and regularly writing each other. I remember sometimes in April or May 2009, Magda emailed all of us, about having reunion in Cape Town, later after 2 years. It will be in 2011 then. I was so excited about that plan. I know my group felt the same too. However, I had this feeling that it seemed impossible for me to go there. I definitely could not afford such a big money to go there.
But, I really wanted to go there….
So I prayed and did something. I typed in my computer “CAPE TOWN 2011 – anything is possible with God in it”. I printed it out. I put on my wall in my room. And started praying…
April 2010, it was Monday, in a morning meeting in my office, when my boss told me “Adelina, I just emailed you about a congress. Please process everything soon, the congress will be held on October. It is in Cape Town, you are going there!”
Cape Town, I am going there!
I had never known before about Lausanne Movement. I had never known that a bunch of great people had been working on that congress and it had been decided to hold that worldwide congress in Cape Town. It had happened long before I met Magda and prayed about coming there.
Many things had happened from April to October. The process with the committee congress was not always easy. But, only one thing in my mind from time to time, on the way to October: “if God wants me to go then I will surely go”. And God really wanted me to go.
So, October 2010…
Cape Town, I am coming…!!
From so many places in the world, the congress could be held in any other place. But God’s willing it was held in Cape Town. From so many beautiful places in the world, I could dream about any other place to be visited. But God put this place in my dream. I met many people who told me about so many great places in the world, the places that I would love to visit someday. But in room, only Cape Town, very specific, is there on my wall. I can not explain all these things… It is just beyond my comprehension.
”All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be” is the only explanation. He is the One who put that dream in my heart. He is also the One who knows how to work on it and make it true in His perfect time. So many years had passed since this teenager dreamt about Cape Town. So many times she forgot that dream or thought that it would never happened. But, God knows. He has it in His book.
So, keep dreaming. You might never know when God put a dream in your heart. All you need to do is just obey. You do not need to know how to make it comes true. It is God’s part. Your part and mine is just to obey Him. We never know…

Few days ago when I came back to my country, back to my room, before unpacking my suitcase, I took my pen and came to that wall. I crossed the “2011” and changed it to “2010”…I have been to Cape Town…
